Today on the link below at the 29:00 mark on the podcast David Lykken and I discus some of big themes for housing for 2017.

2. Will home prices rise?

3. Can new home sales grow enough to bring more construction?
From Census

4. Where are Mortgage Rates Going? How many rate hikes?
From Fred

5. President Trump
I do endorse Steve Bannon’s one trillion dollar spending plan. It would be helpful for domestic investment but that is more of a 2018 economic reality rather than 2017. I do expect President elect Trump to target all companies that choose to move plants over seas but not tax companies that have existing plants over seas. If the health care numbers don’t go his way once the Republicans repeal and replace, I expect massive targeting of companies in the health care industry. (Don’t be surprised if single payer gets some attention).

Would love to see single payer make a comeback once there are no other options on the table.
